An Interview with Alexia:

What is your favourite book?

The Maze Runner by James Dashner

Who is your favourite author?

My favorite author is C.S. Lewis because he achieves to take the reader in places by describing them and at the same time let their imagination run free.

What is your favourite subject at school?

The subject that I prefer is History since I love learning about the past and understanding different cultures and mentalities.

What does ‘adventure writing’ mean to you? Why did you choose to try your hand at an adventure story?

Adventure stories allow the readers to embark on a journey through the eyes of the protagonist and while reading them they can experience a life leading in a path, different from their own. I decided to try adventure writing in order to view the process from the author’s role.

If you could ask an author anything, what would you want to know?

I would like to ask J.K. Rowling how she maintains the reader’s interest after such a long series of novels.

Who would you consider one of your heroes and why?

I consider my parents to be my heroes because I admire how supportive, determined and intelligent they are.

What is the most adventurous thing you would like to do, or place you would like to visit and why?

The most adventurous thing I would like to do would be to go skiing in Iceland.

Where do you find inspiration for your stories?

My inspiration derives from historical events and most of the times is build up with fictional characters that support the plot.

If you could time travel, where would you go and why?

I would travel back to 1429 in order to meet Joan of Arc in the Siege of the Orleans when she was only 17 years old and achieved to encourage an army that had lost hope.

What three words would you use to describe your story?

Unexpected, historical, suspenseful
