An Interview with Meadow:
WNSF: What is your favourite book?
I have a few but the one book I can read again and again is Crier's War by Nina Varela. I loved the characters and riveting plot.
WNSF: Who is your favourite author? Or one who has inspired you and why?
Alexandra Bracken's The Darkest Minds series was the series that made me realise that I want to be an author. I love her style of writing and I aspire to create characters as admirable and memorable as hers.
WNSF: What is your favourite subject at school?
Music and English Language.
WNSF: What does ‘adventure writing’ mean to you? Why did you choose to try your hand at an adventure story?
To me, adventure writing takes the reader on a journey to places that maybe don't exist or real places with an unusual twist. I think they're exhilarating and unforgettable and can make you rethink certain things.
WNSF: If you could ask an author anything, what would you want to know?
I'd probably ask: how do you invent entire worlds and new places with new laws and expectations?
WNSF: Who would you consider one of your heroes and why?
Ludovico Einaudi, he's an Italian composer and pianist. He's made some of my favourite songs including Giorni Dispari and Night. I enjoy playing and listening to his music.
WNSF: Where do you find inspiration for your stories?
From books I've read and thinking of the books that I'd like to read that don't exist yet. I also find inspiration by observing what happens around me and from my parents who are authors.
WNSF: What is the most adventurous thing you would like to do, or place you would like to visit and why?
I've always wanted to go skydiving. It seems fun but I think that opinion would change once I'm actually in the plane.
WNSF: If you could time travel, where would you goand why?
Very far into the future- like 4000 or beyond even- to see how humans have developed both physically and psychologically.
WNSF: What three words would you use to describe your story?
Thrilling, friendship, dystopian.
