An Interview with Jared:
What is your favourite book?
We, the Drowned by Carsten Jenson
Who is your favourite author?
I believe my largest inspirations would have to be Jules Verne and Ernest Hemingway
What was your favourite subject at school?
My favorite subject was English Literature.
What does ‘adventure writing’ mean to you? Why did you choose to try your hand at an adventure story?
I have always loved stories of adventure, and always wished I could write my own as a means of living one. I have been writing since my early teenage years and only began to show my work recently, mainly out of a ‘why not?’ mindset.
If you could ask an author anything, what would you want to know?
The one thing I would ask an author: When and how did this idea come to you?
Who would you consider one of your heroes and why?
My heroes are the musicians who have influenced me, primarily Isaac Brock of Modest Mouse.
What is the most adventurous thing you would like to do, or place you would like to visit and why? I would like to explore the seas, if I could learn to do it.
Where do you find inspiration for your stories?
Most of my inspiration comes from music, an album I love or even a single song.
If you could time travel, where would you go and why?
I would time travel to meet my grandmother.
What three words would you use to describe your story?
Drifter, Redemption, Western.
